The new lighting project for Saint Louis of the French was developed with the aim of guaranteeing a coherent and harmonious vision of the entire space, the architectural details, the pictorial and sculptural surfaces, which constitute a unicum of extraordinary historical and artistic value.
The work was based on a careful analysis of the shapes, materials and colors in such a way as to create a balanced perception suitable for all the activities that take place in the Church, on a functional, narrative and emotional level.
Various scenarios have been developed dedicated to celebratory moments, free and guided visits, concerts and all the other events that animate this space on a daily basis.
The Contarelli chapel, the main attraction of the Church, has been brought back into a harmonious relationship with the rest of the space, eliminating the coin operated ignition system and thus guaranteeing a correct vision for all visitors not only of Caravaggio’s masterpieces but also of their contextualisation in the architecture and global work of art that is Saint Louis of the French.
“We developed the project within an extremely collaborative team both at the client and high supervisory level, as well as designers committed to individual skills, which allowed us to work in an extremely positive climate, which contributed to achieving the result”
